Affiliates

The Affiliate program is ideal for communities just beginning to explore downtown revitalization, those that do not wish to become a Start-Up or designated Main Street / Better Hometown community, or those that wish to use the Main Street Approach™ in a non-traditional commercial setting. Communities of all sizes are eligible to participate as an Affiliate and may join at anytime by following the guidelines listed in the Selection Process.

Affiliates should show a commitment to a professionally managed downtown effort and have a work plan based on the Main Street Four-Point Approach™.

Urban Georgia Network

The Urban Georgia Network (UGN) is designed to assist larger, urban programs by providing a forum for networking and information sharing on urban issues common to all.  The Network encompasses downtown programs, authorities, business improvement districts, community improvement districts, and other organizations that develop and manage the larger, urban downtowns in Georgia. 

The Urban Main Street Program also encompasses urban neighborhoods with a core commercial district and ‘New Towns’ seeking a management approach to revitalization.
